The "Metato" (formerly a place where chestnuts were roasted and ground into flour) is a lovely, restored cottage with a fireplace and exposed stone.
It is located in a cozy and rustic area in the village of Fabbiano from which there is a clear view of the sea as well as the surrounding mountains.
Directly opposite the cottage is the residence of the owners, who may be contacted for information, tips, and troubleshooting any time.
In the small but well-equipped kitchen there is a microwave, combi grill, CD player, electric stove, satellite TV, etc. On the ground floor there is also a sofa bed for 1 adult or 2 children, and a reading corner with information folders and various games.
WiMAX-WiFi is available free of charge (high bandwidth, 24 hrs service can not always be guaranteed). The system is accessible both at home and in the garden under the pergola!
A relatively steep wooden staircase leads to the upper floor bedroom. A trapdoor can be used to separate this bedroom from the ground floor. In addition to a double bed (1.60 x 2.00m), wardrobe and chest of drawers there is also a small WC with washbasin. All windows in the house have mosquito netting.
Via an external staircase, there is a toilet cabin and heated shower for the sole use of the tenant.
The cottage can be heated if necessary by a mobile gas stove that conforms to the latest legal requirements and / or the fireplace.
Outside the Metato, practically attached, there is a covered porch (ca. 20m²), with grill, table, chairs, darts etc.
Under the veranda there is a garden with a second grill, two tables, chairs and a comfortable hammock. An umbrella and two deck chairs are also available to take to the beach.
For lovers of sculpture there are two work easels – bring your own tools.
The owners offer a laundry service and a free child and dog sitting service (no small children and no puppies).
The owner’s dogs and occasionally some miniature goats are kept in a small olive grove under the Metato, separate from the cottage and not normally accessible to the guests.
A henhouse is adjacent to the garden and fresh eggs are available for tenants.
All of our animals, mostly dogs and goats, are very social animals, comfortable with people and children; contact with them is of course, optional and they are separated from guest areas.
