This two-storey house is located in the historic Razès county between Toulouse and Perpignan; in the small, quiet village Peyrefitte-du-Razès (Aude), 42 kms SW of Carcassonne airport (Ryanair), in the heart of the beautiful, enchanting Cathar country, including famous castle ruins like Rennes-le-Chateau and Montségur. The nearest market towns are medieval Mirepoix, and Limoux. Nearby Lac Montbel for swimming, sailing, canoeing etc. The Mediterranean is only 1½ hours away. Wonderful countryside for cycling, hiking, picnics and painting. Environmental science maps show that this corner of France has the cleanest air in Europe. The sofa in the sitting room downstairs is convertible into a comfortable double bed, useful if you have guests staying over. On the ground floor, there is a sitting room with a dining table area as well as armchairs and a sofa in front of the fireplace and satellite flat-screen TV set. There is also a bathroom with separate toilet and a storage area.
