Holiday apartment with a terrace and a garden in a little village, surrounded by pristine nature
This holiday apartment is in a guesthouse in the ‘centro storico’ of the little old village Montecalvo. The village is nestled into a picturesque and mountainous landscape in the inland area of Liguria, to the west of Albenga and to the north of Imperia. If you are looking for peace and quiet, then this is the right place for you. As there is no through traffic, children can play without worrying about cars. Seaside holiday makers can enjoy the tranquility here after the tourist hustle and bustle at the nearby sea, while hikers can enjoy the proximity of the Alta Via, which can be explored in sections. Montecalvo offers a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains and villages. The wind brings the fragrance of the nearby sea and blends with that of olive and chestnut trees.
This holiday apartment with a large terrace and a shared garden is on the ground floor of the guesthouse and provides 35m² of living space. It comprises a double bedroom, a living room with a pull-out sofa bed, a dining space and an integrated kitchen unit, as well as a shower room with a WC. The bedroom is furnished with a French double bed 140cm wide. Next to the bed there is a wardrobe for storing your clothing. After a day trip you can relax on the sofa bed in the living room, with the flatscreen TV with a satellite receiver and a stereo system with a CD player and a radio providing entertainment. Next to the sofa there is an open corner kitchen, enabling convenient self-catering with a four-flame gas stove, a fridge with a freezer compartment, a dishwasher, coffee machine, kettle and toaster. The shower room is fitted with a shower cubicle, a WC and a washbasin with an illuminated mirror.
The terrace is accessed along stairs and provides garden furniture, a parasol and a grill. In the garden there is also a sitting area “under the orange trees” and a seating group surrounded by roses. You can enjoy sunbathing on the two loungers, enjoying a fascinating extensive view towards the green valley and the mountain peaks.
Please note that the village can only be accessed by vehicle. You park by the church and follow the narrow alley about 70 metres to the house entrance. The owner lives in the house and is happy to assist with any queries.
The peacefully situated village is a tranquil and relaxing gem. Cafes, restaurants and grocery shops can be found within about 6-10 kilometres. There are well-priced supermarkets on the way to the seaside about 25km away. You can go on day trips to the Ligurian seaside about 30km away. Nature lovers can discover the many different types of butterfly on extensive walks, or rare birds such as the hoopoe and oriole. With a bit of look, you will spot the badger that steals the fruit from the garden in the evening, or walk through a swarm of fireflies in June. You can enjoy the peace and quiet and togetherness with your loved ones. You can also go on trips and visits in the area. For example, it is worth visiting the witches’ village Triora (50km), the limestone cave and the cave paintings in Toirano (50km), or the Mendatica waterfalls (23km). On your exploratory tours you will come across picturesque swimming spots by the river.
