Modern accommodation in historical walls

The Oberbergmeisteramt was built over 500 years ago in a Renaissance style and is situated at the heart of Obervellach/Mölltal in Carinthia.

Our lovely terrace by the main square can be used throughout the summer for breakfast or snacks such as cake, salads, daily menus. If you prefer to relax with a cup of coffee, tea or a glass of fine wine, you can do so in our cosy lounge or in our courtyard with arcades.

The house that is intertwined closely with the history of the village has been carefully renovated by its owners and provides 11 holiday apartments with modern interiors. You go through the interior courtyard with romantic arcades of take the panoramic lift on the north side to the apartments, each with 2-6 beds, modern living room-kitchens and spacious, barrier-free bathrooms.

Hohe Tauern National Park was opened in 1981 and is therefore Austria’s first national park. Over the years that followed, the nature reserve across the three federal states of Carinthia, Salzburg and Tyrol developed into an Alpine nature reserve spanning 1834m², by far the largest nature reserve in the whole Alpine area. It spans extensive original alpine landscapes such as glaciers, rocky cliff faces and grasses, as well as meadow landscapes cultivated carefully and laboriously for centuries. Whether it is pristine nature, soft tourism or a unique setting for your sports experiences at the heart of the Alps, a holiday in the national park is always a special experience.

For our guests who do not want to self-cater, there is a stylish café on the ground floor. We can deliver an a-la-carte breakfast basket to the apartment or you can book breakfast at the café in addition. To relax after an enjoyable day of skiing at the Mölltal Glacier all-year ski resort, exploring the Hohe Tauern National Park or a rafting trip on the Möll, we offer our guests Physiotherm infrared cabins for use free of charge. Our house also has a ski storage cellar with heated, well ventilated and lockable ski and ski boot lockers and plenty of space for bicycles and hiking equipment. As a Tauernalpin partner enterprise, we are specialists for your national park holiday, allowing you to experience the unique beauty of the national park with all its facets. We put together great national park packages in every season.
