About 5 km above Capolona lies this friendly cottage on the edge of a small borgo. On the first floor living room with fireplace, sofa bed and exit to the terrace; dining room, kitchenette, bathroom with shower. An open spiral staircase leads up to the romantic bedroom. On the property: terrace seating area (pergola) with barbecue; deck chairs and outdoor shower. In August, guests have exclusive use of the owner's pool on the adjacent property upon request/for a fee. The location is ideal to enjoy Arezzo with its worth seeing old town - e.g. strolling through the Corso, visiting the worth seeing cathedral, the Romanesque Pieve, the church of San Francesco with the famous fresco cycle by Pero della Francesca - and of course having an aperitif on the Piazza Grande! Numerous trattorias offer local delicacies. In June and September, Piazza Grande hosts the traditional Saracino equestrian games; on the first weekend of every month, the entire old town comes alive with the great national antiques market. Other places to visit: The picturesque Etruscan town of Cortona (35 km), Castiglion Fibocchi, Monte San Savino and Lucignano (all about 25 km); Casentino with its castles and woods and picturesque Poppi, where you can also play golf (35 km). Siena 75 km, Florence 90 km. In Capolona (5 km) you can get everything for your daily needs: stores of all kinds, trattorias, bars, tennis courts, private train to Arezzo and Poppi.

    “Leider musste unser Aufenthalt in diesem Haus nach 10 von 21 Tagen wegen der direkt vor dem Grundstück ausgeführten Bauarbeiten (der kleine Dorfplatz wurde mit großem Gerät aufgerissen, damit er später gepflastert werden konnte) abgebrochen werden. Der Baulärm und Staub zwang uns zum Umzug in ein anderes bei Florenz gelegenes Haus. Das Haus Nr. 17 in Casaveccia ist so eingerichtet, wie auf den Fotos zu sehen. Wir haben uns im Haus wohlgefühlt. Allerdings sind die Lichtverhältnisse in der Küche nicht ganz optimal. Backofen und Kochplatten sollten nicht gleichzeitig genutzt werden. Die ungewöhnliche Duscharmatur im Bad sollte erneuert werden. Im Schlafraum ist die Verdunkelung defekt und leider fehlt ein Fliegengitter vor der großen Fenstertür. Das Haus wird mit einem Vorhängeschloß gesichert. Die Verwalterin Frau Ivana war sehr freundlich und hat uns mit Eiern von eigenen Hühnern und auch Wein aus dem eigenen Anbau versorgt. Tomaten gab es von freundlichen Nachbarn gegenüber. Den Besitzer des Hauses haben wir erst am Morgen der Abreise kennengelernt. Er spricht fließend Deutsch und wohnt unweit des Ferienhauses. Rückblickend betrachtet haben wir es bedauert, dass der Aufenthalt vorzeitig dort endete.”
