    “De middenstand in het dorp is beperkt. Er zijn een paar kruideniers, maar dan heb je het ook wel gehad. Wij gingen meestal naar Olvera of Ronda. Daar is middenstand genoeg! Verder zijn bezoekjes aan Marbella en vooral Cadiz mogelijk. Vooral Cadiz is interessant. (het wordt wel klein Havanna genoemd) Zoek niet naar een parkeerplaats, maar duik meteen een parkeergarage in. Veel gemakkelijker en spotgoedkoop.
    In El Gastor valt weinig te beleven, maar wij kwamen voor de rust. Zittend op het terras hebben we 's avonds vaak tientallen Vale Gieren gespot. Geweldig mooi!!! Ik kan me voorstellen dat een gezin met kinderen wat meer vertier zoekt.”
