The old presbytery watches over the Pays de Cocagne

The old presbytery of Saint-Théodard reigns here at the top of a hill, serene. A postcard image, in the heart of the Pays de Cocagne, made famous by the cultivation of pastel. Woad gave the Pays de Cocagne a golden century from the 15th to the 16th century, when the country was covered with castles, churches and pigeon houses.

Nowadays, the landscapes alternate between fields of sunflowers, wheat, small woods, and shades of yellow, green and gold. The village of Puylaurens offers many walks on marked paths, a circuit of churches and pigeon lofts, numerous shops and a market on Wednesdays. Its tourist office will be able to provide you with information.

To visit nearby: the bastide town of Revel and its market, Castres and its Little Venice, a little further on Albi and its Cathedral, not forgetting Toulouse the pink city.
