Holiday cottage with private pool, in a hilltop setting with stunning views of the surrounding area and the Mediterranean sea

Casa Encantada is located in the lowland region of Andalusia. It is set on a hilltop in the white village of Benamargosa. There are no direct neighbors or owners. From the cottage and the swimmingpool you can enjoy stunning views of the sea (Torre del Mar), the valley and the village. The beach is about a twenty minute drive away. The town centre of Benamargosa is around 700 m away from your cottage. Benamargosa offers a supermarket, shops, banks, restaurants, cafes and a medical centre.

The cottage is spread over two floors. The ground floor hosts three double bedrooms and a bathroom with a bathtub/shower and toilet. Beside the house is a cottage (which cannot be rented individually) with a further double bedroom with a sitting area with a wood stove and a bathroom with shower, toilet and sink. In addition, this room has a seating area and a refrigerator. Next to the cottage is a terrace where you can sit in the shade and watch the world go by. You will see shepherds herding their goats regularly walk past your terrace.

The living room is on the first floor. Doors that open up the living room to the outside lead onto the terrace from where you can enjoy breathtaking views. The terrace boasts views of the Mediterranean sea and almost 360 degree views across the valley. Here, you can witness incredible sunsets. In the living room you will find a TV and wireless internet access (Wlan) and a chest of drawers filled with various games and books (recipe books, novels and nature books). You will also find local area information and information on area tours and tourist attractions. The winter nights can be cold. There is a cosy wood burning stove in the living room providing plenty of heat to your cottage. The bedrooms are on ground level and each is equipped with electric heating.

On the first floor you will find the open plan kitchen which is equipped with all the necessary utensils and a gas cooker, fridge, freezer compartment, coffee machine, microwave, toaster and electric kettle. As you’re preparing your meals in the kitchen you can admire the views across the white village of Comares. The upper floor also has one more bedroom with a single bed and a toilet.

The cottage is surrounded by a flat garden with fruit trees. There are lemon-, fig- and orange trees and many other tropical plants and trees. The shallow part of the garden is a great place for playing badminton, boule and football. The cottage also boasts a plantation of ripe mangos and avocados. When you walk through the plantation you will feel like you’re in a jungle.

Encantada is a great base for various activities and excursions. The towns of Seville, Granada, Cordoba and Malaga are approximately two hours away, within a 200 km distance. You can drive to the sea and in the vicinity you can enjoy hiking, cycling, golf, horseback riding or skiing in the Sierra Nevada.

    “Prachtig gelegen huis met een fenomenaal uitzicht! We genoten van een leuke vakantie met het gezin. Het huis heeft diverse terrassen en een mooi zwembadje. Ramon en Esther zorgden dat alles piekfijn in orde was. Opgemaakte bedden bij aankomst, water en bier in de koelkast, we konden zelfs een boodschappenlijstje doorgeven. Zij wachtten ons op in het dorp en toonden ons de weg naar het huis. Het huis heeft een petanquebaan, er zijn heel veel gezelschapspellen en boeken aanwezig.
    Een aanrader!
    Het huis is ook centraal gelegen om diverse daguitstappen te doen: wij bezochten Nerja, Granada en Malaga.”

    “A lovely big house with two terraces and a nice swimming-pool with relax beds. The house is situated in the middle of nowhere with an astonishing view over the valley. A good guarantee to have the maximum of rest. Ramon and Esther gave us a warm welcome and made us feel very comfortable. There guides inside give a complete overview how everything works and what you can do and see in the environment.
    Ideally you have (rented) a car and you need to be a pretty trained driver to go all the way uphill. The airport is a small one hour drive form their house.”

    “Heel fijn vakantiehuis! Gastvrije ontvangst, mooie ligging in de bergen. Mooie tuin, keuken (en eigenlijk hele huis) heel volledig uitgerust.”
