Besides visiting Capoliveri’s numerous beaches and picturesque little alleyways, you can bike or trek to the stupendous Monte Calamita, with its 413 mt. peak rising high above the town.
All this is possible because the “Capoliveri Bike Park” Sports Association has re-opened around 100 kilometres of old tracks which were ...
show more used in the past by peasants and miners, before the advent of cars, as a means of transport to reach the Ginevro and Vallone mines and the vineyards on the mountain slopes. Bikers and Trekkers can now ride/trek along the 100 kilometres of tracks accessible to all nature-lovers.
Every track is suitably sign-posted and identified by a colour indicating the degree of difficulty.
Off-road cycling and trekking offer unique panoramas: to the south-west the awe-inspiring seascapes of Golfo Stella, Pianosa, Corsica and the Isle of Montecristo. To the south-east breathtaking views of the Gulf of Porto Azzurro
One of the tracks leads to the magnificent and uncontaminated beaches of Monte Calamita: the Miniera, Sassi Neri, Buzzacone and Stagnone beaches and many other little coves which can only be reached on foot or bike.
Excursions depart from the Piazza del Cavatore (opposite the Town Hall), the venue for all bikers, trekkers and nature lovers, where Simone’s “Capoliveri Legend Park” shop will be pleased to provide assistance and information for bikers and excursionists.
The shop also stocks a selection of new generation German “Focus” bicycles.
At the “Capoliveri Legend Park” shop you can:
• Rent finely engineered bikes equipped with the latest off-road technology
• Buy top brands of components and equipment
• Take advantage of a new generation bicycle repair garage
• Hire guides for excursions, in collaboration with the “Capoliveri Bike Park” association
